Set up Turn Zero in terminal Claude Code #

Before adding or changing a connection, check whether start already works. Reuse a working turnzero connection. Ask once before changing the setup. If the person uses the Claude desktop app or hasn't named a Claude surface, offer both routes in that message. This route starts sign-in in terminal Claude Code. The custom connector starts sign-in from Claude settings and covers desktop chat, the Code tab and claude.ai.

For a new tzTrack and tzMesh connection, use https://turnzero.ai/mcp?products=tztrack,tzmesh. Use https://turnzero.ai/mcp if you need tzCloud. The plain address turns on every product your account has. The query can only narrow that set, and a saved selection overrides the address.

On an existing connection, use choose_products to turn on tzcloud, tztrack or tzmesh. Pass every product you want to keep on. Image generation uses tzCloud. Call create_application before generate_image, which saves the image in the application's storage.

  1. After approval, you or the person can add turnzero from a terminal. The user scope makes it available across project folders. If you chose the plain address, use it in the command.

claude mcp add --transport http --scope user turnzero "https://turnzero.ai/mcp?products=tztrack,tzmesh"

  2. The person opens a new interactive terminal session with claude, types /mcp, and chooses turnzero. The person completes browser sign-in and chooses Allow access if asked. Keep tokens and callback URLs out of chat.

  3. Run claude mcp get turnzero after sign-in. Look for Connected. This also shows the full saved address, including the query string that claude mcp add may omit.

The session that added the server cannot load the new tools. Report the tool check as pending and give the person the prompt below. In a Claude Code 2.1.316 macOS test, a new desktop Code tab session loaded the user-scoped tools after terminal sign-in, even though the desktop app's /mcp settings did not list the server.

To switch to the custom connector, first remove the terminal entry with claude mcp remove turnzero. Keep one connection.

Check in a new session #

Open a new terminal or desktop Code tab session and paste:

Check my Turn Zero connection. Call start and tell me which products are on. If the call fails or is unavailable, tell me what happened.
