Turn Zero Cloud compared with Supabase
Supabase is a Postgres development platform: a database with authentication, file storage, edge functions, and cron around it. Turn Zero Cloud is a production backend for an application your coding agent builds: it runs the application's own Node.js server beside its database, file storage, sign-in, scheduled jobs, AI calls, and push notifications, through one MCP connection.
Supabase is a product of Supabase, Inc., named here for comparison only. This page is Turn Zero's, and Supabase has neither reviewed nor endorsed it.
The short version
- Supabase gives you a Postgres database with services around it. Your application's own server runs somewhere else, such as Vercel.
- Turn Zero Cloud runs the application itself, server and backend together, at its own address. Your coding agent deploys it and reads its logs through the connection it built it with.
- Supabase prices per project plus compute. Turn Zero Cloud prices per application: one free application for each account, then $10 or $35 a month.
- Both offer an MCP server, so Claude Code and Codex work with either. What the server lets the agent do differs, as the table shows.
Side by side
Supabase's facts are read from its pricing and documentation pages on 2026-10-06. Check those pages for current figures.
| On | Turn Zero Cloud | Supabase |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A production backend for an application built with a coding agent: the server and its services in one place. | A Postgres development platform: a database with authentication, storage, edge functions, realtime, cron, and queues. |
| Your application's server | Hosted. A Node.js server in its own container, at its own address under ai.host. | Not hosted. Edge Functions run short TypeScript handlers on a Deno-compatible runtime; a Next.js or Node application deploys elsewhere. |
| Database | A PostgreSQL database for each application, created with it. | A full Postgres database for each project, with extensions such as pgvector. |
| Sign-in for your users | Included: accounts and passkeys, with open or invitation-only sign-up, its users managed from your coding agent. | Included: Supabase Auth. |
| File storage | Included, for each application. | Included: Supabase Storage. |
| Scheduled jobs | Included, with each run's outcome recorded. | Cron on pg_cron: SQL, database functions, or HTTP calls, from every second to once a year. |
| AI calls | From inside your application, on an allowance every plan includes or on your own key. | pgvector for vectors and search, and embeddings generated inside Edge Functions; other model calls run on your own keys. |
| Push notifications | Included, to iPhone and Android. | Not a Supabase service; an Edge Function can call one. |
| Secrets | Stored by name through the connection, typed into your own terminal and never into the chat; an outside API's key is replaced without a redeploy. | Project secrets for Edge Functions, set through the dashboard, the CLI, or its MCP server. |
| Deploys, logs, and rollback | Your agent deploys and rolls back versions, promotes from a development environment when you add one, and reads each version's logs, counters, and deploy steps. | Edge Function deploys and project logs; your application's own deploy belongs to its host. |
| MCP server for coding agents | One server: it creates the application, stores its secrets, deploys it, and reads its logs and status. | One server: it runs SQL, applies migrations, manages projects, deploys Edge Functions, and reads logs. |
| Free plan | One free application for each account; its capacity is on the pricing page. | Two active projects, a 500 MB database, 1 GB of storage, and 50,000 monthly active users; a project pauses after a week without activity. |
| Paid plans | Standard at $10 and Pro at $35 a month, for each application; every plan is free during the beta. | Pro from $25 a month, with $10 of compute included and compute billed beyond it for each project. |
When Supabase fits better
You want Postgres itself at the centre: row-level security, SQL migrations, realtime subscriptions, vector search in the database, and an open-source stack you could host yourself. Your front end already has a home, and a database with services around it is what is missing.
When Turn Zero Cloud fits better
Your coding agent is building a whole application, server included, and you want it to go from a prompt to a running address without assembling a host, a database, a sign-in service, and a secrets store from several dashboards. One connection gives the agent all of it, and one plan for each application prices it.
Using both
An application on Turn Zero Cloud can call any outside service on keys stored by name, Supabase included. If a project already lives in Supabase, the application's server can run here and keep reading that database.
