Turn Zero Cloud compared with Lovable
Lovable is an AI app builder: you describe an application in a browser chat, Lovable's own agent writes it, and Lovable hosts it with a built-in backend. Turn Zero Cloud is a production backend for an application your own coding agent, Claude Code or Codex, builds on your machine: it runs the application's Node.js server beside its database, file storage, sign-in, scheduled jobs, AI calls, and push notifications, through one MCP connection.
Lovable is a product of Lovable Labs Incorporated, named here for comparison only. This page is Turn Zero's, and Lovable has neither reviewed nor endorsed it.
The short version
- Lovable's agent builds the application in the browser, and Lovable hosts it, front end and backend together. The code syncs to GitHub, and the backend is Lovable Cloud, built on Supabase's open-source foundation.
- Turn Zero Cloud leaves the building to your own coding agent on your machine and runs what it builds: the application's own server at its own address, with its database, storage, sign-in, jobs, AI calls, and push notifications beside it.
- Lovable prices by credits: building, the running app's Cloud usage, and AI calls draw on one balance, a live site using none on its own. Turn Zero Cloud prices per application: one free application for each account, then $10 or $35 a month.
- Both offer an MCP server. Lovable's lets Claude Code create a project, send prompts to its agent, read its files, query its database, and publish it; Turn Zero Cloud's lets your agent create, deploy, and operate the backend itself.
Side by side
Lovable's facts are read from its pricing and documentation pages on 2026-10-06. Check those pages for current figures.
| On | Turn Zero Cloud | Lovable |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A production backend for an application built with a coding agent: the server and its services in one place. | An AI app builder: a browser chat whose agent writes the application, with hosting and a built-in backend behind it. |
| Who writes the code | Your own coding agent, Claude Code or Codex, on your machine, in a repository you hold. | Lovable's agent, from your prompts in its chat. The code syncs to a GitHub repository you can edit elsewhere; editing it inside Lovable is a paid-plan feature. |
| Your application's server | Hosted. A Node.js server in its own container, at its own address under ai.host. | Hosted at a lovable.app address. Pages are served from Lovable's hosting, apps created since May 2026 server-side rendered, and backend code runs as Edge Functions on Lovable Cloud. |
| Database | A PostgreSQL database for each application, created with it. | A database in Lovable Cloud, built on Supabase's open-source foundation, with backups you can restore. |
| Sign-in for your users | Included: accounts and passkeys, with open or invitation-only sign-up, its users managed from your coding agent. | Included in Cloud: email, phone codes, Google, Apple, Microsoft, and SAML SSO. |
| File storage | Included, for each application. | Included in Cloud, as buckets. |
| Scheduled jobs | Included, with each run's outcome recorded. | Included in Cloud as jobs, with their run history. |
| AI calls | From inside your application, on an allowance every plan includes or on your own key. | Through Lovable AI, on a key Lovable manages for the project. Free, Pro, and Business grant 4 credits a month for it, and calls beyond that draw on the balance. |
| Push notifications | Included, to iPhone and Android. | Through Lovable's connector to your own Firebase Cloud Messaging project, for Android, iOS, and web; Google's quotas and billing apply. |
| Secrets | Stored by name through the connection, typed into your own terminal and never into the chat; an outside API's key is replaced without a redeploy. | Entered through a secure input in the project chat or the Cloud panel; write-only once saved, and injected into Edge Functions, never the browser. |
| Deploys, logs, and rollback | Your agent deploys and rolls back versions, promotes from a development environment when you add one, and reads each version's logs, counters, and deploy steps. | Publish deploys a snapshot of the project. The History panel reverts the code to an earlier version, the database's data staying as it is; backend logs are read in the Cloud panel. |
| MCP server for coding agents | One server: it creates the application, stores its secrets, deploys it, and reads its logs and status. | One server, on every plan: Claude Code and other clients send prompts to the project's agent, read its files, query its database, and publish it. |
| Free plan | One free application for each account; its capacity is on the pricing page. | 5 build credits a day up to 30 a month, with 20 Cloud credits and 4 AI credits a month; it publishes to lovable.app, with no custom domain and no code editing inside Lovable. |
| Paid plans | Standard at $10 and Pro at $35 a month, for each application; every plan is free during the beta. | Pro from $25 a month for 100 credits and Business from $50. Building, Cloud usage, and AI calls draw on the one balance, and top-ups cost from $0.30 a credit. |
When Lovable fits better
You want to build in a browser chat without a coding agent of your own, see the result as the agent builds it, and have the agent, the host, and the backend in one subscription. The application is a web app, and one balance of credits that covers building and running suits how you work.
When Turn Zero Cloud fits better
You already work with Claude Code or Codex on your own machine, in your own repository, and want what it builds to run in production as a long-running Node.js server of its own, rather than pages with serverless functions behind them. You want the agent to deploy, roll back, and read the logs itself, at a fixed price for each application rather than a usage balance. The application may be for the web, a phone, or the desktop.
Using both
A Lovable project syncs to GitHub, so Claude Code can clone it and keep building on your machine. When the application needs a server of its own, its backend can move to Turn Zero Cloud: the data exported from Cloud, the schema and the sign-in recreated there by the agent, and the front end pointed at the new address.
