# Set up Turn Zero in the Claude desktop app

Use a custom connector for Claude desktop chat and the Code tab. The same connector is available on claude.ai. Before adding or changing a connection, check whether `start` already works. Reuse a working `turnzero` connection. Ask once before changing the setup. If the person uses the desktop app or hasn't named a Claude surface, offer both routes in the same approval message. The connector starts sign-in from Claude settings. [Terminal setup](/tztrack/getting-started/set-up-claude-code/) starts sign-in in terminal Claude Code and can serve new Code tab sessions.

For a new tzTrack and tzMesh connection, use `https://turnzero.ai/mcp?products=tztrack,tzmesh`. Use `https://turnzero.ai/mcp` if you need tzCloud. The plain address turns on every product your account has. The query can only narrow that set, and a saved selection overrides the address.

On an existing connection, use `choose_products` to turn on `tzcloud`, `tztrack` or `tzmesh`. Pass every product you want to keep on. Image generation uses tzCloud. Call `create_application` before `generate_image`, which saves the image in the application's storage.

The person follows these steps in the Claude desktop app.

1. Open **Settings** → **Customize** → **Connectors** → **Add** → **Add custom connector**.
2. Enter `turnzero` and paste the address into **MCP server URL**. Choose **Continue**.
3. Keep **Sign in now**, choose **Register automatically** under **OAuth client**, and leave **Request headers** empty.
4. Choose **Add**. The person completes browser sign-in and chooses **Allow access** if asked. Keep tokens and callback URLs out of chat.
5. In desktop chat, open **+** → **Connectors** and turn on **turnzero**. In the Code tab, look for the connector by name or ID. Its instructions identify it as Turn Zero. If it doesn't appear in the current Code tab session, open a new one and check there.

If you already added `turnzero` from a terminal and want to switch to the connector, run `claude mcp remove turnzero` before adding it. Keep one connection. If you picked the wrong authentication option, remove the connector and add it again.

On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds the connector under **Organization settings** → **Connectors**, then each member chooses **Connect**.

## Check the connection

Paste this into the chat or Code tab where you enabled the connector:

```text
Check my Turn Zero connection. Call start and tell me which products are on. If the call fails or is unavailable, tell me what happened.
```
